Jonah and the Great Big Fish in a nutshell:

The people of Nineveh (Ninevians) are very naughty and quite frankly, God got fed up! He wanted them changed, so decides to send Jonah to tell them he is cross.

Not so quick, though!

Jonah however, had a radically different idea. He decides it's a golden opportunity for an overdue holiday. He promptly packs his bag and deftly boards a ship to Jaffa. He’s in no mood for helping naughty Ninevians.

Trouble soon brews aboard the ship however, and cocktails with accompanying guffs to one side, Jonah's world is about to turn - literally...  Jonah’s world is soon upside down, as he finds himself in the dark dingy belly of a giant fish.

After several pleas with God, Jonah gets another chance and off to Nineveh he goes to drop the bombshell, enough of the wild parties! Time to buckle down and get seriously friendly with God. All the while, he’s secretly hoping that God won’t let them off the hook that easily…

Jonah and the Worm:

Those naughty Ninevians have really gone and done it this time. Not only have they stopped the wild parties, they’ve actually said sorry! And guess what?! God has forgiven them. Can you believe it? They’ve become God's friends. Jonah's initial indifference turns to anger.  He gets extremely cross with God.  Enough of all that lovey-dovey nonsense he thinks, as he storms off in strop! He’s furious with God. Mercy? What’s that?!

I think that's a trait we'll all have to learn.
